How to open a ZIP file on your mobile phone and find the extracted content.

You received several documents inside a ZIP file, but tapping on the attachment didn't show the PDF or photo you needed. First, you need to extract the contents of the package; then, open the desired file in the destination folder.
To open a ZIP file on your mobile phone, this guide uses Google Files on Android and the Files app on iPhone. These are two ways to handle the package without sending it to a decompression website.

Locate the ZIP file before attempting to open it.
Finish downloading the attachment and check where it was saved. If it came from a chat or email, look for the option to save the file to your device. The preview displayed by the app may not be the folder where you will be working.
On iPhone, Safari downloads can be found via the browser's download button or in the Downloads folder of the Files app. Apple shows these locations in the guide to locating downloaded files.
If the package is still on your computer, here's how... Transfer files between your mobile phone and computer.. Complete this step before starting the extraction.
How to extract using Google Files on Android
Open Google Files, developed by Google LLC. If it's not on your device, check the app in [link to Google app]. official Google Play page. The following instructions are from this application; other manufacturers' managers may have different menus.
- Locate the folder where the ZIP file was saved.
- Tap on the package and check the list of items displayed.
- Choice Extract and wait for the result.
- Finish in Completed.
The extracted content will be located in the same folder as the original ZIP file. On your first attempt, leave the option to delete the package after extraction unchecked: this way you can review the documents before deciding what to delete.
O Google Files support It indicates that this feature only accepts ZIP files. A RAR or 7z file requires a different path; simply changing the letters in the name does not convert the format.
How to open it in the iPhone Files app
In the Files app, find the ZIP file and tap on it. The system will create a folder with the extracted contents. Open this folder and select the document you wish to view.
If you need to organize the results, press and hold the folder to rename it. A name like "travel-documents" is more helpful than keeping multiple folders with similar names.
The app also creates ZIP packages: select the items and use the command. Compress in the options menu. Apple describes the two operations in ZIP file guide for iPhone and iPad.
The ZIP file wouldn't open: what to check
Start by looking at the message displayed. If it indicates full storage, free up space before repeating the extraction. The phone needs to accommodate the content that will be created, in addition to the already downloaded package. Google documents lack of space as a possible cause of failure.
If the download was interrupted, try downloading the file again. If a password is required, confirm the details with the sender; this basic procedure does not guarantee support for all types of ZIP protection.
There is also a difference between extracting and viewing: the package may open normally, but contain a format for which there is no compatible application. In this case, identify the file extension of the item inside the folder.

Check the contents before removing the package.
Open at least the documents you need and check that they are complete. Then, choose whether you want to keep the ZIP file as a copy or keep only the extracted content.
If you only needed to read one file, there's no reason to reorganize the entire storage. Solve the received packet and keep a clear name for it so you can find it again later.
