How to remove titles from "Continue Watching" on Netflix
You started a movie, gave up, and now it keeps showing up among the titles you intend to finish. It's possible to remove titles from "Continue Watching" on Netflix via your mobile phone, computer, or TV.
Before choosing a command, consider the desired outcome: removing an item from the row or hiding it from the history. The second option affects profile recommendations.
How to remove a title from the row
Open Netflix to the profile where you started watching and locate... Continue watching. Next, follow the device's path:
- Android, iPhone or iPad: open the menu corresponding to the title and select Remove from row.
- Computer: Hover your cursor over the title and choose Remove from row.
- TV: Open the details of the title that appears in this row and choose Remove from Continue watching.
A Netflix recommends using the latest version of the app. to find the feature. If it's missing on your phone, check for updates before trying another method.
When does it make sense to hide the history?
Hiding a title from your history also removes it from "Continue Watching." Additionally, it stops appearing as watched and isn't used to recommend content unless you watch it again.
If that is your intention, follow the official instructions for hiding titles:
- In a browser, go to the page Account from Netflix.
- Open Profiles and select the desired profile.
- Access What was watched.
- Use the hide icon next to the movie or episode.
When you hide an episode, you get the option to hide the entire series. It may take up to 24 hours for the change to be removed from all devices. This option is not available when accessing the history of a Netflix Kids profile.
Consult the list before changing multiple titles.
If you don't remember the name of the movie you want to remove, the history can help you identify it. On the page What was watched, use Show more to expand the list.
It is also possible to select Download all to save the history in a CSV file, as per Help for viewing and downloading Netflix history.. This can be useful if you keep a personal record of what you've seen.
